Urban League 2007

African-American men are more than twice as likely to be unemployed as white males while earning 74% as much per year. Unemployment for black men was 9.5 percent, as compared to 4 percent for white men.

Black men are nearly seven times more likely to be incarcerated, with average jail sentences about ten months longer than those of their white counterparts.

Black males between 15 and 34 are nine times more likely than whites to be killed by firearms.

Black males are nearly eight times more likely than whites to suffer from AIDS.

After attending elementary school, blacks “begin to fall behind on standardized tests.” (President Bush’s heralded No Child Left Behind). The Urban League reported that in fourth grade blacks perform at a level of 87 percent of whites. By the time they reach twelfth grade, their scores are at 74 percent of whites.

By high school blacks are more likely to drop out—15 percent, as compared with 12 percent for whites.

Fast forward to 2010 and Black folk are still drowning in uncle sam's urine...

Negro Appreciation Month

Nothing has changed and the community is still waiting for a messiah. Not sure the solution except I believe things might have been different if the US was taken to the UN as Minister Shabazz intended. Maybe if the Black Panther Party & other political were able to unify... Religion is the community crutch and it seems people are to paralyzed or misguided to act. They want to pray on it. Until folks in the community get off their knees nothing positive will occur.

Negro Appreciation Month

Well it is another year and nothing has changed...

Young black men were more than six times as likely as young white men to have served time in prison. I had to break up the information provided byTHE TENNESSEAN.

November unemployment data, the latest figures available for Tennessee and the nation, show about 18 percent of black men in the U.S. and 28 percent in Tennessee are unemployed, compared with about 9 percent of all workers in the U.S. and 10 percent

According to the Tennesean Census data shows that 71 percent of black graduate students are women.

65% of students who cannot read proficiently by the end of the 4th grade will end up in jail or on welfare. (Guess the people leading the pack)

This Negro Appreciation Month plan to hit it again and try to wake the 85%

On the flip side I would like Egypt returned to Africa... Currently there are pretenders sitting on the throne. How do I know... Muslims do not dig up their dead, better yet they do not allow foreigners to dig up their people.

MLK Day

Long live the King!!!!! He was perpetual motion and unfortunately that momentum has stalled. If King were alive our came back, he would be PISSED
In eighties not one leader storm the Capital when it was found out the template of death for the Black community came in the guise Iran Contra.
Now Obama is being used to lull the flock to sleep. Poverty, incarceration, AIDS, high infant mortality rate, high unemployment is just a brief glimpse of the ills among Blacks. Change from the community first. Obama can only do so much and due to the office that he holds mobility is stagnant for the community.
I bet MLK would vomit at the fact that people went from doing to worshipping false prophets. Tupac was a performer nothing more.

Anti Gay/Bullying




FAG... HOMO... REALLY???? Come on... This is sick, what are people teaching kids. A person is a person no matter what. If you have a child in your house or in class that is struggling with their identity, lend them an ear and shoulder. Do not attempt to change or criticize. Carl was 11 and that is insane... Cut and dry.. We need to teach the young that they are them because that is how it is... Just excel in life and people filled with crap will always be out there..

MLK_ OBAMA_False SECURITY




Today is MLK day and I am still wondering the purpose for shutting schools down. Majority of kids will not participate in any festivities except PS3,Wii,XBOX/ some other form of mind numbing activity. The following are statistics

The educational status of blacks has improved slightly in 2007 to 79 percent of whites, up
from 78 percent in 2006. This sub-index, which is weighted to make up 25 percent of the full
Equality Index, is calculated across five major categories: quality, attainment, scores,
enrollment as well as student status and risk factors.

Earlier in life, black children excel until the middle-grades and high-school years when their
achievement falls off significantly. More than two-thirds of young black children are enrolled in
early childhood education programs such as Head Start, compared to slightly more than 64
percent of white children. They have also improved in the areas of school readiness –
scoring at 94 percent of that of whites, up from 81 percent in 2006. They have even
surpassed or nearly matched white children in terms of some home literacy activities; 81
percent were taught words or numbers three times a week, compared to 76 percent of
whites, and 54 percent were read a story once a week, compared to 56 percent of whites.

Obama's good fortune in education comes from a mother that is a seasoned travel or,meaning she actually saw the world and understood it's complexities. Obama experience this as weal. Also the school Obama attended was no light weight either.It is a top private school (Punahou School) in Hawaii. Meaning Barry is not a byproduct of public education. In 1979, the year Obama graduated, tuition for high school students at Punahou was $1,990, a sizable expense compared with Hawaii's median family income of $22,750 that year. In other words public school system has been on the decline and the majority of black children are not fortunate enough to have the dividends to pay for a first rate education or have sanity in their life.

Martin Luther King enter Morehouse College at 15 and the rest is history.

Education is the KEY...

Instead of shutting schools down Black folk lets keep the schools open and make it mandatory on this day that we (along with our kids) spend a full day in a educational seminar that focuses on community & parental improvement. Heck lets make it a week.

There is no mountain top yet and Obama's victory should not be taken lightly... Statistically speaking for everyone Obama there is 20 that will fall through the cracks.

MUSIC-NYOIL

I love music regardless what it is because music is a beautiful expression of the soul... Lately that expression has turned ugly... I ran across NYOIL a 5 trying to resurrect the 85 while trying to cut the heads of of the 10...
The music videos that I have posted is not intended for children under the age of 13 due to the content.. I will leave that up to you as a responsible pearson. They music videos are powerful and highly recommended for detox.

Reply To MLK Holiday Anonymous Response

I have not posted lately due to prior comitmits but I could not let this person slide by without responding. I Am Not for The MLK Holiday blog post I recieved the following comments:


if you were conserderd your feeling for the MLK Holiday, theyre wouldnt be any holidays you fool! maybe you should take an American Lit class and learn a few things b4 you try and comment on facts and issues you do not know...the holiday is a step to cast light upon the struggle of blacks not to undermine! if there was no holiday then that would undermine even more!----with your opinion "Good luck with life" my advice to you is to think more an a broad level! see several points of view then examine them all chose one and also compare b4 you go writing blogs and sites =)



This what I have to say to Annonymous:
First I am not the one needing "American Lit" and I am not sure what sort of knowledge I would get from a class about authors of North America (Canada excluded) Second, I spend most of my time with kids that compose there sentences in the same manner as you. I admit that that my grammar skills are not the greatest but I can formulate a good sentence which I believe an American lit class could help. I am not for the holiday because it becomes an excuse or a hollow statement for something much powerful. School is out and for what??? Blacks are coming up short in every category which I have posted in that particular post. Time and time again kids that I have ran across are lost and the holiday is not helping, matter of fact I hear more kids blaming whites for their problems when they should look in the mirror. Yes racism and other discriminatory factors are in place BUT there are ways around this. Instead of shutting down the schools hold a black study vigil in his honor. Lets not march, instead lets bum rush the school board show up in numbers. Lets do a hostile take over in our community shut down the crabs that keep pulling us down. I am a fool??? No, I beg to differ for it is you that remains the blind sheep being lead to the slaughter. The struggle of blacks you say well visit a resource class or some other form of higher special education and you will find black youths falsely imprison a statistic training facility. You will find young kids of Kemet being pumped full of kiddie cocaine and pedagogical poison. I am God incarnate as is everyone that chooses intellectual light is. I have read your post and the actual truth you prove me right in the fact that MLK day is in vain by responding in some cryptic unintelligible language. What sort of education did you have? If we want to honor MLK or any other individual that gave their life's blood to the enrichment of my people then it should be done through education which if you gander at the statistics our kids are not.
In closing Anonymous I hope you seek Knowledge to Cipher because you are in a pit of snakes and do not realize it...

MLK Day

Again we celebrate this Prophet of the Elohim most high in a masturbatory fashion. Why is it school is out and people march to relive the glory days?
• Percentage of all white K-12 public school students in the United States in 2004 who attended schools where more than one half of the entire student body participated in the federal free-lunch program for low-income families: 18.5%
• Percentage of all black K-12 public school students in the United States in 2004 who attended schools where more than one half of the entire student body participated in the federal free-lunch program for low-income families: 62.0% (U.S. Department of Education)
Why is it that they march when the percentage of all fifth-grade white children in 2004 who were enrolled in some type of special education class: 12.5%
compared to all of the fifth-grade black children in 2004 who were enrolled in some type of special education class: 11.9%(U.S. Department of Education). What makes this disturbing is that People of descent from the African holocaust makes up 13% of the population.
Black students were 2.9 times more likely than Whites to be identified as having mental retardation. They were 1.9 times more likely to be identified with an emotional disturbance and 1.3 times more likely to be identified with a specific learning disability.(Department of Education)
Why are they Marching when their children are being discarded in the wasteland of special education were the curriculum is water down.
Why is it they March and fail to support a positive movie The Great Debaters. When I saw it 90% of the audience was white. There were black folks there but it was to see the latest comedy.
Why is it they choose to march, sing those old negro spirituals and laugh while their future (kids) is fading.
Why is it they want to support wayward children when it benefits their perverted cause. When Sarah Kreager was beaten within an inch of her life by children of African heritage no one came in and chastise them(the children). Instead everyone remain silent. The parents blamed Sarah and tried to spin it into a Jena Six case.
Why is it they March and recite the poetic and moving speach I Have a Dream when they themselves refuse to get of the Ambien and realize the dream is dying..

Why is it schools are out when they have failed our children worse yet the parents has failed their children.
If the Prophet Martin Luther King were alive today he would be disgusted I believe Boondocks captured it best in the episode Return of the King, when Martin told his audience "As I look out across the crowd now at all these black people who sacrificed nothing for the cause of freedom, I see nothing but a bunch of lazy, shiftless, trifflin' niggas!"
Martin died for us to move foward..... Denise McNair, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Addie Mae Collins, aged 11 to 14—were killed when a bomb exploded at their church Sept. 15, 1963. Their blood help weave the flag of civil rights which the people of today decide to burn....
In conclusion:
It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this check — a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quick sands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children. MLK
