It has been a while since I transverse the hallways of this mangled corridor. Up until recently nothings has fired my pistons until now. Many moons ago I looked toward the East were a black cube hovers and lost my mind.. Ten years of insanity to be exact.. Now I realized after shaking the putrid shackles of ignorance that "if I do not believe in myself then God is an atheist"
I am no longer in symbiosis with the Black Cube or any other means that keep people in utter blindness.

Anti Gay/Bullying

FAG... HOMO... REALLY???? Come on... This is sick, what are people teaching kids. A person is a person no matter what. If you have a child in your house or in class that is struggling with their identity, lend them an ear and shoulder. Do not attempt to change or criticize. Carl was 11 and that is insane... Cut and dry.. We need to teach the young that they are them because that is how it is... Just excel in life and people filled with crap will always be out there..

I AM TIRED OF THE BUDGET BASHING.. Obama stepped into a pile of crap and the question that everyone should ask is what kind of sadist is he..
I guess the GOP is going through some sort of memory loss.. Iraq, Katrina & Wall Street... Afghanistan gets a pass because they were the original target and because of some misguided judgement poppy fields bloom with joy.

I just received a comment from a Ms. Bloofan in regards to my post on why I am not for MLK Day.
"If you don't like the ignorance in society, don't complain about it, spread knowledge--not lame opinions." is what she had to say about my post... I thought that most of my post have been about the 120 120 120....
Anyway I am tired & amused by people outside of my racial spectrum telling me how I should feel about a holiday that has been loosely associated with the advancement of my FOLK... Loosely because the holiday is a justification to prove racism no longer exist. I hope Ms. Bloofan stays in achieves her dream of becoming a high school teacher and I do hope that she chose a "urban" school for enlightenment.
I hope Ms. Bloofan read the rest of my blog and walked away with something besides lame comments...

Job Loss

I can not feel sorry for a MBA that went from making 750,000 to delivering pizza... I am more concern about the wounded soldier trying to make ends meet or a family in a modest job, barely breaking 20k that has lost their job. I agree that things are tough all over but there are better examples of the economy gone wrong..

Watch Your Kids!!!

I am upset for the way this child was treated and feel that the cops need to be given a slave beating or put in a cell with someone that is not fond of cops..
I am equally upset that the victim did not take some responsibility and admit that she was in a stolen car.. Borrowing without permission is theft. The young lady should of stated that she was in the wrong being with her friend in a car they did not have permission to drive.
I am not justifying her beating but we have to teach our kids that their behavior may cost them their life...

NY POST WTF

Now the NAACP calls for firing the of N.Y. Post cartoonist.. The NAACP is showing its irrelevance.. Currently the state of Black AmeriKKKa is not in good shape and Obama "making it" has not miraculously healed those problems. AIDS (sex education), Education, Housing Crash, INcarceration & Homicide should be on the top of the list. Ironically this has plagued Black America for a long time and I have not heard a squeak from anyone. I have an idea lets fire those pimps in priestly garb and start our own form of marshal law in the community. I bet every dime that if Bush was in the White House everyone would agree that the 'toon hit the mark.. I guess using the word 'toon is taboo as well..

Racism

Lately there has been buzz/frustration surrounding a cartoon that the New York Post published. I guess my racist meter is broken because it does not come across as being intentially racist. Which goes back to the press handling Obama with kid gloves and few comedians are willing to take a poke at the new president in fear of "black lash"

Which leads me to the GREAT Attorney General Eric Holder... I am serious about the GREAT and in his first big speech when he declared "Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards,"
I believe the majority of people is scared of having a honest discussion about race relation.
Especially my Black family because there are troubles that can be traced to race problems and I do not mean blaming White Folk for our troubles....

What Am I

The other day I heard a young woman of African heritage proclaim in a loud voice that she is not African/Afro american... She stated that she is an American and decided to add the biggest confusion that she should be referred to as Irish American since here other ancestors came from Ireland... She was serious. I must be honest and state that I do not see myself as an american, be it Afro, African or what ever the powers may be want to label. I am a person behind enemy lines.... Obama's election may not add up to much as long as parenting skills remain low among some people as I saw today when a mother told her child to act right or she will beat here ass.... The child is three and the mother added some more explenitives. This is not an isolated incident.
I avoid labels as much as possible and do not embrace the devil (whatever costume or color)
Black month or ancestor month is not a time of marching and singing.. We need to revolt and take back our schools and universities and proclaim "I AM"

MLK_ OBAMA_False SECURITY

Today is MLK day and I am still wondering the purpose for shutting schools down. Majority of kids will not participate in any festivities except PS3,Wii,XBOX/ some other form of mind numbing activity. The following are statistics

from 78 percent in 2006. This sub-index, which is weighted to make up 25 percent of the full
Equality Index, is calculated across five major categories: quality, attainment, scores,
enrollment as well as student status and risk factors.

Earlier in life, black children excel until the middle-grades and high-school years when their
achievement falls off significantly. More than two-thirds of young black children are enrolled in
early childhood education programs such as Head Start, compared to slightly more than 64
percent of white children. They have also improved in the areas of school readiness –
scoring at 94 percent of that of whites, up from 81 percent in 2006. They have even
surpassed or nearly matched white children in terms of some home literacy activities; 81
percent were taught words or numbers three times a week, compared to 76 percent of
whites, and 54 percent were read a story once a week, compared to 56 percent of whites.

Obama's good fortune in education comes from a mother that is a seasoned travel or,meaning she actually saw the world and understood it's complexities. Obama experience this as weal. Also the school Obama attended was no light weight either.It is a top private school (Punahou School) in Hawaii. Meaning Barry is not a byproduct of public education. In 1979, the year Obama graduated, tuition for high school students at Punahou was $1,990, a sizable expense compared with Hawaii's median family income of $22,750 that year. In other words public school system has been on the decline and the majority of black children are not fortunate enough to have the dividends to pay for a first rate education or have sanity in their life.

Martin Luther King enter Morehouse College at 15 and the rest is history.

Education is the KEY...

Instead of shutting schools down Black folk lets keep the schools open and make it mandatory on this day that we (along with our kids) spend a full day in a educational seminar that focuses on community & parental improvement. Heck lets make it a week.

There is no mountain top yet and Obama's victory should not be taken lightly... Statistically speaking for everyone Obama there is 20 that will fall through the cracks.

I never understood why music teacher in elementary school seem so happy... That is until I found out that the songs we sang came from the hippie play Hair

Obama Not The 1st Black President??

I stole this from DiversityInc.... It was so mind boggling that I could not do the subject justice.
It has been said that this year was the first time a major political party in the United States nominated a woman or a Black person as its presidential candidate. For women, that is true, but some historians say Barack Obama will not be the nation's first Black president. They say he certainly won't be the first president with Black ancestors--just the first to acknowledge his Blackness.

Which other presidents hid their African ancestry? Well, it's not Bill Clinton, even though the Congressional Black Caucus honored him as the nation's "first Black president" at its 2001 annual awards dinner. Presidents Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge all had Black ancestors they kept in their genealogical closets, according to historians.

Harding did not deny his African ancestry when Republican leaders called on him to deny his "Negro" history. He said, "How should I know whether or not one of my ancestors might have jumped the fence?"



Does African ancestry make these men Black? If the bar is the one-drop rule, then yes. The one-drop rule is a historical term used during the Jim Crow era that defines a person with one drop of sub-Saharan-African ancestry as not white and therefore must be Black. If that's the bar, then there have already been other Black presidents, says historian Leroy Vaughn, author of Black People and Their Place in World History.

The first president with African ancestry was Jefferson, who served two terms between 1801 and 1809. Jefferson was described as the "son of a half-breed Indian squaw and a Virginia mulatto father," as stated in Vaughn's findings. Jefferson also was said to have destroyed all documentation attached to his mother, even going to extremes to seize letters written by his mother to other people.

President Andrew Jackson, the nation's seventh president, was in office between 1829 and 1837. Vaughn cites an article written in The Virginia Magazine of History that states Jackson was the son of an Irish woman who married a Black man. The magazine also stated that Jackson's oldest brother had been sold as a slave.

Lincoln, the nation's 16th president, served between 1861 and 1865. Lincoln was said to have been the illegitimate son of an African man, according to Vaughn's findings. Lincoln had very dark skin and coarse hair and his mother allegedly came from an Ethiopian tribe. His heritage fueled so much controversy that Lincoln was nicknamed "Abraham Africanus the First" by his opponents.

President Warren Harding, the 29th president, in office between 1921 and 1923, apparently never denied his ancestry. According to Vaughn, William Chancellor, a professor of economics and politics at Wooster College in Ohio, wrote a book on the Harding family genealogy. Evidently, Harding had Black ancestors between both sets of parents. Chancellor also said that Harding attended Iberia College, a school founded to educate fugitive slaves.

Coolidge, the nation's 30th president, served between 1923 and 1929 and supposedly was proud of his heritage. He claimed his mother was dark because of mixed Indian ancestry. Coolidge's mother's maiden name was "Moor," and in Europe, the name "Moor" was given to all Blacks, just as "Negro" was used in America. It later was concluded that Coolidge was part Black.
